Introduction
Mentors. Pioneers. Practitioners.
At Kingsman International College, our greatest asset is not our building, but the minds that inhabit it. Our faculty is a carefully curated mosaic of academics from across the European Union and beyond. They are chosen not just for their publication citations, but for their ability to ignite curiosity.
Many of our staff hold dual affiliations with local industry partners in the Oulu Linnanmaa district, ensuring that the knowledge passed down in our lecture halls is current, relevant, and battle-tested.

Dr. Tanel Vseviov
Position: Head of Faculty (Computer Science) Origin: Estonia Qualifications: PhD in Distributed Systems (University of Tartu); MSc Cyber Security.
Biography: Dr. Vseviov brings the pragmatic digital ethos of e-Estonia to Northern Finland. Before joining Kingsman, he spent six years as a systems architect for a Baltic fintech unicorn. His teaching style is notoriously rigorous; he prohibits the use of generative AI in first-year coding modules, insisting that students must “learn to think before they learn to prompt.” His current research focuses on the limitations of edge computing in sub-zero temperatures.

Saskia van der Meer
Position: Senior Lecturer (AI Ethics & Software Engineering) Origin: The Netherlands Qualifications: MSc Logic (University of Amsterdam); BEng Software Engineering.
Biography: Saskia moved to Oulu for the silence but stayed for the code. She bridges the gap between the technical and the philosophical. Her modules on “Algorithmic Bias” are among the most popular undergraduate electives. She runs the student “Hack-for-Good” club and is known for her open-door policy—provided you bring coffee. She is currently writing her doctoral thesis on the legal implications of autonomous agents in EU Law.

Lukas Hämäläinen
Position: Technical Tutor & Lab Manager Origin: Finland Qualifications: BSc Computer Science (University of Oulu); Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
Biography: Lukas is the backbone of the Kingsman hardware labs. A “hands-on” educator, he believes that you haven’t truly learned networking until you’ve crimped your own cables. He supports A-Level students with their Computer Science projects and ensures the undergraduate server clusters remain operational. He is a former competitive gamer who now coaches the Kingsman e-sports team.
Department of Arts & Design
Prof. Alessio Moretti
Position: Head of Faculty (Design) Origin: Italy Qualifications: MA Industrial Design (Politecnico di Milano); BA Architecture.
Biography: Prof. Moretti brings Milanese flair to the Arctic Circle. He posits that “restriction breeds creativity,” using the limited light and resources of the North as a design constraint to inspire students. He is a harsh critic of “design for design’s sake” and champions functionality above all. His voice is often heard echoing down the studio corridors, urging students to “simplify, simplify, simplify.”
Selected Publications & Output:

Position: Lecturer (Sustainable Materials & Visual Arts) Origin: Finland Qualifications: MFA (Aalto University); BA Textile Design.
Biography: Eeva-Liisa is an expert in bio-based materials. She splits her time between teaching and her own studio practice, where she experiments with making textiles from wood cellulose and mushroom mycelium. She teaches the “Nature as Studio” module, frequently taking students into the forest to gather raw materials. She is patient, quiet, and deeply observant.
